About Us...
We're a long established firm, founded in 1947 to be precise, and we have offices located in both Ashby de la Zouch and Leicester. Whilst our core business centres on meeting the needs of the small owner managed enterprise, our client list is varied. We have recently assisted a client in achieving a multi million pound sale of their business.
The Partners and staff are confident in being able to meet the needs of a wide range of businesses.
The firm currently consists of three partners and 16 staff, many of whom also hold professional qualifications.

Alan Turland BA FCA
Having graduated from Nottingham University in 1972 with a BA (hons) degree in Industrial Economics, Alan qualified in 1975. Having gained further experience as an Audit Manager with a City firm he joined JMH in 1978. He was appointed a partner, as the successor to the founder partner Fred Johnson, in 1980. He is a member of the Institute's Audit & Assurance, Taxation and Information Technology faculties.
Married with two children his hobbies include golf, gardening and the local Rotary Club, of which he was President in 1999/2000.
Andrew Stant FCA
Andrew qualified in 1980 having trained with Johnson Murkett & Hurst as John Hurst's articled clerk. He was appointed as a partner in 1983 and specialises in tax. Andrew has responsibility for running the Leicester office as well as maintaining a portfolio of clients in and around Ashby. He is a member of the Institute's Audit & Assurance, Taxation and Finance & Management faculties.
Married with one child his hobbies are music, painting and railways. Andrew has been Honorary Treasurer to LOROS (the Leicestershire Hospice) since 1988.
Phil Nash ACA
Phil joined the firm as a Manager in 1987 having qualified at a local firm in Burton-on-Trent in 1979. He was appointed a partner two years later and has extensive experience of various sizes of business. Although mainly providing general practice services, he is also responsible for the firm's audit registration. He is a member of the Institute's Audit & Assurance and Taxation faculties.
He is married with two children and spends most of his spare time gardening.
